Spalletti: 'Sparkling Inter football'
Luciano Spalletti hopes Inter can find more “consistency” after their 3-0 win over Frosinone. “We played sparkling and attractive football.”
Keita Balde Diao bagged a brace and provided the assist for Lautaro Martinez’s header, as the Nerazzurri recovered from their 4-1 defeat to Atalanta by flattening Frosinone.
“The reaction was the right one, the team played sparkling and attractive football,” the Coach told DAZN and Sky Sport Italia.
“We showed patience, because Frosinone are dangerous on the counter-attack, so it was better to keep them pinned back there and under pressure.
“It is very important to be calm in possession. The ball is still moved around quickly, but not frenetically, otherwise you have to work harder to chase them down and get it back.
“Keita has the ability to do remarkable things and was pretty consistent this evening. He only had a few moments where he dropped out of the game and at that point he becomes a burden the rest of the team has to cover for.
“I liked Lautaro’s character, as he is physical, a fighter and never wants to let go. He’ll battle to the last drop of sweat.”
The Nerazzurri have now won eight of their last nine Serie A games.
“Inter want to get stronger, to be among the top teams in Serie A and the Champions League, eradicating those blackout moments we sometimes get.
“At times we make bad decisions, so we still need to mature and improve. There is more consistency now and it’s important for us to maintain this level. We can’t go from shining lights to total darkness in the blink of an eye.
“The fans teach us how to behave, as they are always there, always with us.”
